I sometimes think the hardest part of counselling is reaching out for it in the first place. We don't often like the feeling of vulnerability it places us in, yet it is this vulnerability that opens the way for things to change. It is even more intimidating for men. It would be a rare occasion that people who come to see me don't walk through the door and say something like 'I'm feeling nervous/scared/not sure about this'. I am confident in saying that most of the time it doesn't take long before people feel comfortable with me and able to open up about whats been going on that has brought them to counselling. It takes great courage and reaps great rewards.
I work with all sorts of people with all sorts of problems including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship breakdowns, a general sense of feeling lost or those wanting to create some 'me time'. I also have a special interest in:
I am 1oo% committed to providing the best care I possibly can to those who entrust me with their most vulnerable aspects. I am a Level 4 member of Australian Counselling Association and as such comply with their professional and ethical requirements. I am passionate about counselling and art therapy and have seen it effect the lives of clients, friends, family and for myself. That said, sometimes it takes a while to find the right fit in a counsellor. I will be honest, transparent and professional.
The key modalities that I work within are Emotion Focused Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Art Therapy, Guided Drawing for Trauma and I am also a Becoming Us transition to parenting facilitator. I am continuously adding to my repertoire and increasing my knowledge of current best practice.

Counselling and Art Therapy
While there is no medicare rebate available these prices are the equivalent of most gap fees that people are faced with when booking a psychologist through a Mental Health Care Plan with your GP i.e. most people will pay this amount even with a rebate.
Many people find the cost of counselling prohibitive. I am happy to discuss concession rates and sessions on a sliding scale.
I work with relationships in all their forms and celebrate diversity in my practice.
I love to talk with or meet people who are interested in counselling or art therapy, so feel free to call during normal business hours. I offer counselling in the Torquay/Bellbrae area as well as online. I am happy to discuss all matters to do with counselling, art therapy, couples and relationship counselling, relationship issues, family violence, sexuality, trauma, anxiety or depression on the phone prior to booking a session.
